Estimates & scheduling

Are your estimates free?
Yes. Each project begins with a thorough inspection and detailed estimate, so you see exactly what we found and what it costs before anything starts. The inspection and the written estimate are free, with transparent pricing and no hidden fees.
Are you available on weekends?
We are available 7 days a week. Call 337-351-3282 or request a free estimate online, and we will set up a time that works for you. It is usually easy for us to schedule an inspection.
What happens during the free inspection?
We get on the roof and in the attic. Up top we check the shingles, flashing, vents, pipe collars, chimney and ridge. In the attic we look for daylight, water stains, soft decking and trapped moisture. We photograph what we find and walk you through it, then put the scope, materials and price in writing.
How long does a roof replacement take?
Most single-family homes are a short project once materials are on site. Your estimate includes the expected schedule, and weather is the usual reason dates move. We keep you posted if rain pushes the start.
How do I request an estimate online?
The free estimate form takes three quick steps: what you need, where the property is, and how to reach you. You can add up to five photos of the problem if you have them. Your request goes straight to Andy, who calls to set up the inspection.

Registration & insurance

Are you registered and insured?
Delta Roofing and Repair LLC is registered with the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors for home improvement work, Registration No. 568479, valid through March 15, 2028. We are general liability and workers’ compensation insured. Certificate available on request.
Why does it matter that a roofer is insured?
If an accident or damage happens during the project, the contractor’s insurance covers it, not you. Workers’ compensation covers injuries to the crew on your property. Before any roofer starts, ask to see a current certificate of insurance.
How can I check a contractor in Louisiana?
The Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors offers a free contractor search on its website. Ask any roofer for their license or registration number, look it up, and make sure the name matches the company on your estimate. Delta’s registration number is 568479.
Can I see your insurance certificate?
Yes. Certificate available on request. Call 337-351-3282 or email Andy@DeltaRoofingandRepair.com and we will send you a copy before work starts.

Roofs & materials

What kinds of roofs do you install?
Shingle, metal and flat roofs for homes, along with soffit and fascia, siding, skylights and ventilation.
Which shingle brands do you use?
We install materials from GAF, CertainTeed and Owens Corning. Your written estimate lists the materials, so you know exactly what is going on your house.
How do I know if I need a new roof?
Age is the first clue: most asphalt shingle roofs last 20 to 25 years. Other signs are curled or missing shingles, granules in the gutters, leaks and water stains, a sagging deck, and daylight through the roof boards.
Why do roofs seem to wear out faster here?
South Louisiana is hard on a roof. Long, hot summers and strong sun dry out asphalt shingles and the sealant around vents and flashing. Humid air that gets trapped in a poorly vented attic can soften the deck from below. Add tropical storms and overhanging trees, and a roof can age faster than its rating suggests. Good ventilation and regular checks help it last.
Do you only do big jobs?
No. From minor leaks to major repairs, no job is too big or too small for our team. A single pipe collar or a few missing shingles gets the same care as a full replacement.

Storms

What should I do after a hurricane?
Stay off the roof, photograph the damage from the ground, and call us. We assess the damage and can tarp and seal openings to stop water while permanent repairs are scheduled. Inside, move valuables away from any drips, and check the ceilings and attic for new stains in the days after the storm.
When is hurricane season?
The Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30. Late summer and early fall are usually the busiest stretch. Spring is a good time to have the roof checked, while the weather is calm.
What does tarping do?
A tarp is temporary protection. After wind or a fallen limb opens the roof, a properly fastened and sealed tarp keeps rain out of the attic and the house until permanent repairs can be made. It limits the damage while materials and a schedule are set.
What can I give my insurance company?
We document the damage with photos and a written assessment you can give your insurer.
How can I get my roof ready before a storm?
Get an inspection before the season starts. A loose shingle in May is a leak in September. Have lifted shingles, cracked pipe collars and loose flashing fixed, keep gutters clear, and trim branches back from the roofline so they cannot scrape or fall on the roof in high wind.

Repair or replace

Should I repair my roof or replace it?
It depends on the age of the roof and how widespread the damage is. A newer roof with a leak at a pipe collar or a few wind-damaged shingles is usually a repair. An older roof with curling shingles, heavy granule loss or leaks in several places is often better replaced, because repairs on a worn roof only buy time. After the inspection we tell you which one makes sense and why.
Why is the water stain nowhere near the leak?
Water runs. It can get in at flashing, a vent or a nail hole, then travel along the underlayment or a rafter before it drips onto the ceiling. That is why we trace a leak from the attic and the roof instead of just patching above the stain.
What is a pipe collar, and why does it leak?
A pipe collar, or pipe boot, is the rubber and metal seal around a plumbing vent where it comes through the roof. In our heat and sun the rubber dries out and cracks, and water follows the pipe down into the attic. Replacing a failed collar is one of the most common roof repairs there is.

Ventilation & attic

Why does attic ventilation matter in Louisiana?
An attic that cannot breathe gets very hot in summer and holds damp air the rest of the year. Heat bakes the shingles from below, and moisture can lead to mold, wet insulation and soft decking. Balanced ventilation, with intake at the soffits and exhaust near the ridge, keeps air moving and helps the roof last.
Do I need an attic fan?
Not every house does. Some attics breathe well with soffit and ridge vents alone; others need a powered or solar attic fan to move enough air. We check your attic, soffits and existing vents during the inspection and recommend what fits your roof.
