Soffit & Fascia

What we do.

Enhance your home's exterior with our soffit and fascia system installation. Soffits provide crucial ventilation to your attic, helping to prevent moisture buildup and maintain air circulation.

Soffits

Install and repair soffits to enhance attic ventilation and protect your home from the elements.

Fascia

Install and repair fascia boards to protect the roofline and provide a finished look.

Soffit and Fascia System

Our team installs these components to complement your roofline while safeguarding your home from the elements.

Matched to your roof

With quality materials and precise craftsmanship, we keep your home looking sharp and working efficiently for years.

Fascia boards offer a clean, finished look and protect the edges of your roof. Rotten fascia is also where gutters pull loose and water gets behind the drip edge.

How we do it

We start by walking the whole roofline. From a ladder we check the fascia for soft or rotten wood, the soffit for gaps, sagging panels and blocked vents, and the gutters for how well they are holding on. From the attic we look at the rafter ends and whether outside air is actually reaching the attic through the soffit. We take photos of what we find.

You get a detailed written estimate with transparent pricing and no hidden fees. If we find rot that goes past the fascia into the rafter tails, we show you the photos and explain the repair before it is added.

Then the damaged boards and panels come off, the new fascia and soffit go up, and everything is tied back in to the drip edge and gutters so water runs where it should. We clean up thoroughly before we leave.

  • Roofline inspection from a ladder and from the attic
  • Photos and a written estimate
  • Removal of rotten fascia and damaged soffit
  • New fascia and vented or solid soffit installed
  • Drip edge and gutters tied back in properly
  • Clean-up of the work area

Signs your soffit and fascia need work

Soffit and fascia sit right where water, sun and animals hit the house first. Look up along the eaves for these:

Catching rot early usually means replacing a few boards. Waiting can let water reach the rafter tails and the roof deck, which is a bigger repair.

  • Peeling or blistering paint on the fascia
  • Soft, cracked or crumbling wood when you press on it
  • Gutters sagging or pulling away from the house
  • Soffit panels sagging, loose or missing
  • Nests, droppings or chewed holes from birds, wasps or squirrels
  • Dark stains or mildew on the underside of the eaves
  • Water marks behind the gutters after rain

Materials

We install materials from GAF, CertainTeed and Owens Corning. For soffit and fascia, the choice comes down to how much upkeep you want and how the trim should look against your siding and roof.

Painted wood fascia gives a traditional look but needs paint to stay sound. Aluminum wrapped over the fascia boards, or trim boards made from PVC or composite, resist rot and need very little care. Soffit comes in vinyl, aluminum and painted wood, in solid panels or vented panels. Vented panels are what let the attic breathe, so we use them wherever the attic needs intake.

Color and profile matter too. We match the new trim to your roof edge and siding so the roofline looks finished, and so the drip edge and gutters sit tight against the fascia where water leaves the roof.

Built for Acadiana weather

Humidity is hard on wood trim. In a climate this damp, paint lifts sooner and bare wood soaks up moisture and rots, especially on shaded sides of the house where it never fully dries.

Afternoon thunderstorms test the roofline every summer. When gutters overflow, water spills over the back edge and soaks the fascia, and leaves and pine needles from nearby live oaks and pines are the usual reason gutters overflow in the first place.

During hurricane season, from June 1 to November 30, wind can get under loose soffit panels and pull them off. An open soffit lets wind-driven rain straight into the attic. Secure panels and sound fascia keep the roof edge closed when the weather is at its worst.

Soffit & Fascia questions

Can soffit and fascia be done without a new roof?
Yes. It can be done on its own, though pairing it with a replacement saves a second setup.
What is the difference between soffit and fascia?
Fascia is the vertical board along the edge of the roof, where the gutters hang. Soffit is the material underneath the overhang, between the edge of the roof and the wall of the house.
Do vinyl soffits let air into the attic?
Vented vinyl soffit panels do. They have small perforations that let air in while keeping insects out. Solid panels do not, so the type matters if the soffit is your attic intake.
Why do squirrels and birds get in at the soffit?
Loose or rotted soffit and fascia leave gaps at the roof edge, and animals use them to reach the warm, dry attic. Replacing the damaged sections closes those gaps.
How do soffit and fascia affect attic ventilation?
The soffit is usually where fresh air enters the attic. If the panels are solid, painted shut or blocked by insulation from the inside, the roof vents above have nothing to pull from, and the attic holds heat and moisture. Opening up the intake is often part of a soffit job.
